ONE YEAR COURSE
IN GENERAL PHOTOGRAPHY
2024-2025

Introduction

Course designed for those people who, starting from a basic level, wish to delve deeper into photography in all its aspects, and thus obtain sufficient levels of knowledge of the world of images and own capacity to take the step into the professional world.

It is a dynamic and practical course that is divided into three segments, in which the student will also be asked to work outside of school hours. The course is structured into various subjects that are sometimes complementary and cover one, two or all three blocks.

Block I will deal with general aspects of photography, mainly on a technical level and accompanied by a practical side. In Block I and II, we will find three modules that will lead the rest of the course: Documentary Photography, New Narratives and Personal Projects.

Block II and III also incorporate masterclasses and new modules that will address different facets of the world of images and whose ultimate objective is to make students aware of the capabilities of photography as a visual language and bring them closer to the possibilities of professional photography.

ACTIVITIES & INFORMATION

The Project
January - May
Personal Project
The photographic project will be developed by each student throughout the last two blocks. The topic to be discussed, freely, may be decided by the student themself or discussed with the teachers designated for that function.

The projects will be monitored monthly, which will consist of viewing and criticizing them. These follow-ups will be done in a personalized way so that students can delve into those problems, both technical and linguistically, so that their work improves.

Extraordinary Activities
November - May
Visit a Hybrid Art Fair.

There will be guided visits to exhibitions of interest that are being held in Seville during the course period.

Sponsors
CP has different sponsors from entities linked to photography. These sponsors will allow the student, among others, to learn about and work with state-of-the-art lighting equipment: Profoto and access to the best digital printing and assembly processes. Bab Jerez Both brands offer our students discounts on their lighting equipment, printing and photographic montages.

Since 2018, we have had FUJI as a collaborator of our school.

Collective Exhibition
The personal works carried out during the course will be shown in a collective exhibition that will take place after the end of the course.

Best Project
The prize for the best work will consist of the transfer of the COBERTURA PHOTO Space for an individual exhibition. The ruling will be made public after the opening of the group exhibition and the exhibition will take place in the year following the end of the course.

Participation in Art Fair
CP attends the Hybrid Art Fair annually, an emerging contemporary art fair held in Madrid coinciding with ARCO. CP selects alumni of the annual course so that they can show their work within the framework of this fair.

Participation in CP Projects
CP selects former students of the annual course to participate in each pedagogical project that it develops in collaboration with other centers and entities at an international level.
Proyecto TOET

Internships
Students may choose to do specific internships as photographers' assistants during the course. These practices will always depend on the volume of work of the studios and photographers that collaborate with CP.

Installations  The CP Space is primarily used as a classroom and gallery and photo studio. Students will be able to use the studio to do internships outside of course hours. The availability of the study will always be subject to school activities, so it must be requested in advance.

Library and Video Library
The space has a specialized bookstore-library, as well as a video library. Students of the annual course, in addition to consulting and purchasing, can withdraw part of the loaned funds.
