CONTENTS

Module 1: Storytelling and Workflow Media Discover context to help frame your work. This course focuses on exploring themes and ideas through grouping, editing, and sequencing in order to create a coherent body of work. Through student-centered learning techniques and exercises, we will work together to construct an individualized story. With work in progress  teachers will guide you to organize your workflow, your timeline, and ultimately a foundation for individual vision. Class includes optional personal critiques with faculty.

Module 1 coincides with the Seville Flamenco Biennial, the most important flamenco festival internationally. http://www.labienal.com.

The Biennale hosts the best shows, classical and contemporary, and the city is also packed with different events. Many parallel activities also take place around the shows.

The Biennial will collaborate with the ICP Masterclass, offering students facilities to photograph in rehearsals and a map of places and activities where participants can also work on the topic.

A perfect opportunity to enter the world of flamenco through photography, in one of its cradles.

Module 2: Multimedia Fundamentals with Sound. Combining sound with images to create engaging multimedia stories creates a powerful context for photographs. Using this work, archival research, sampling, and collected materials, this class takes advantage of Adobe Premiere Pro to create a short multimedia story. The art of doing a good interview and recording involves a crucial technique for making the story work. Together, we will practice with subjects and/or friends with recorders, microphones and video.

Module 3: Contextual editing and sequencing. Learning to listen to your own voice is harder than you think; Editing images becomes easier when you can clearly contextualize them; Choosing and ordering your images affects the way they look. This course takes a close look at how to visually construct a narrative, listen to tone, and explore strategies that clearly communicate your vision. Through guidance, exercises, examples, critiques, and self-examination, participants will discover ways to make sense of their visual worlds.

Module 4: From Stills to Video
You have all the components of an unedited story (stills, video, audio, stock photos) and now you just need to edit and cut them together. In this course, you'll create a polished multimedia story about someone, someplace, or something you find interesting. By improving your stills/video/audio editing skills, you will complete a digital presentation of between 1 and 5 minutes.
